Hot Docs titles to DVD

Films by Brett Gaylor, Nik Sheehan among first releases

TORONTO -- As the theatrical market for independent films continues to weaken, the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival has pacted with local distributor Kinosmith to release its festival titles on DVD.

The first titles from the festival-branded "Hot Docs Collection" includes the Canadian mash-up media doc "RiP: A Remix Manifesto," from Brett Gaylor, and Nik Sheehan's drug-soaked pop culture doc "FLicKeR."

Other DVD releases this summer that Hot Docs will help promote include Pietra Brettkelly's "The Art Star and the Sudanese Twins," Bryan Friedman's "The Bodybuilder and I," and "Saving Luna," from David Parfit and Suzanne Chisholm.
