Behind her shades is a glowy complexion.

Beyonce donned a dramatic, all-black Nicolas Jebran gown said to have been inspired by the Black Panthers and a pair of cat eye-shaped Alain Miklii sunglasses that added to the mystery the singer likes to bring to any awards show or Instagram post she is a part of (she ducked into the Grammys tonight midway through the ceremony).

Though most of her famous face was shaded by glasses and a hat, it was still clear that her skin was luminous and that a bold magenta lip color pulled the entire look together.

Beyonce’s makeup artist Sir John prepped her complexion with Glossier Skin Tint and L’Oreal Paris Infallible Total Cover Concealing & Contour Kit, utilizing lighter tones under the eyes and darker tones to create dimension and contour.

He then applied Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam on the apples of her cheeks and highlighted her face with L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion on her cheekbones and the bridge of her nose.

Under those sunglasses, Beyonce is sporting a rose gold shadow on the ball of her eyes and cat eye eyeliner using L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Feline Liner Noir on the top lash line. For the bottom of the eye, he applied YSL Beauty Eye Duo Smoker in Smokey Brown near the lash line.

But it’s that bold lip that’s most statement-making. Sir John created the purple-magenta lip using L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Matte Lip Liner in Strike A Matte-ch mixed with YSL Beauty Tatouage Couture Liquid Matt Lip Stain in Fuchsia Intime and Carmine Encounter.

Given Beyonce’s influence on just about anything, it’s just a matter of time before we’re all wearing a bold purple-magenta lip.
