How the Networks Are Covering the March on Washington's 50th Anniversary

An ABC News radio correspondent who covered the original march decades ago was at the National Mall on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, broadcast and cable networks blanketed the airwaves with coverage of the "Let Freedom Ring" 50th anniversary commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech at the National Mall. 

ABC News and content partner Yahoo News teamed for coverage of the event anchored by George Stephanopoulos and anchor/correspondent Dan Koeffler in New York. In D.C., chief national correspondent Byron Pitts was dispatched to the Lincoln Memorial to cover the proceedings along with correspondent Linsey Davis. 

TV RATINGS: NBC Tops Tuesday With Steady 'America's Got Talent' 

ABC News Vic Ratner, who covered the March on Washington 50 years ago, also covered the event Wednesday. ABC News radio writer Tara Gimbel tweeted a photo of Ratner at the proceedings. 

NBC News had anchor Lester Holt at the National Mall along with the network's political director, Chuck Todd, and contributor Charlayne Hunter-Gault, the network said. Holt will also anchor the Nightly News report on the anniversary.

Scott Pelley is anchoring CBS News coverage of the commemoration along with the network's chief White House correspondent Major Garrett, correspondent Jeff Pegues and consultant Douglas Brinkley.  

On cable, Fox News, correspondent Shannon Bream is anchoring coverage. Anchor Kelly Wright was on location at the Lincoln Memorial and D.C. reporter Doug McKelway is also covering the event. 

Chris Matthews anchored the event for MSNBC and Chris Hayes is set to host a special report at 8 p.m. ET.

CNN had planned coverage with Don Lemon anchoring the proceedings in D.C. along with Van Jones, Donna Brazile and correspondents Athena Jones and Joe Johns.

Al Jazeera America, which launched last week, had White House correspondent Michael Viqueira on site as well as Del Walters anchoring coverage from the channel's New York studio.
