'Hunger Games: Mockingjay' director Francis Lawrence is helming.

Hugh Jackman is in very early talks to star in Lionsgate's big Odyssey film.

Hunger Games: Mockingjay director Francis Lawrence is helming the film, which is based on the Greek epic poem that centers on hero Odysseus’ journey home after the fall of Troy. It takes him a decade to reach Ithaca, where his wife Penelope and don Telemachus reside.

Talks with Jackman are very early. If the deal sticks, he'd play the hero Odysseus.

Hunger Games producer Nina Jacobson is producing the new film. Peter Craig is writing the script.

Jackman will next be seen in Warner Bros.’ Pan and Fox’s Eddie the Eagle with Taron Egerton. He’s repped by WME and Sloane, Offer.
