'I Smile Back' Trailer: Sarah Silverman Gets Dramatic
The movie will screen next week at the Toronto Film Festival.
As a comedian, Sarah Silverman knows how to make people smile, but in her new film, I Smile Back, she plays a self-destructive woman who forgets how to do just that.
“I’d love to smile like that again,” says Silverman in the new trailer for the Adam Salky-directed drama.
In the film, Silverman is Laney, a drug and alcohol-addicted New Jersey housewife, who often sleeps with the best friend of her husband, played by Josh Charles. The film follows Laney through her brief stint in rehab and her attempt towards recovery, all while she continues to pack her kid's lunches.
I Smile Back premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and is set to screen at the Toronto International Film Festival.
It was co-adapted by Paige Dylan and Amy Koppelman, from Koppelmam's novel of the same name.
The movie will be released in the United States on Oct 25.
