Ian Cameron named exec producer of 'Week'

Replaces Katherine O'Hearn

NEW YORK -- An ABC News veteran in Washington has been tapped as executive producer of "This Week With George Stephanopoulos."

Ian Cameron will replace Katherine O'Hearn, who announced recently she would be leaving "This Week." The show is broadcast from the Newseum near the Capitol with behind-the-scenes at ABC News' DeSales Street NW bureau.

Cameron comes to "This Week" from ABC's "World News With Charles Gibson," where he was Washington senior producer for the past seven years. He began his career as a producer with "World News Tonight With Peter Jennings" in 1998, working with the investigative team and producing "Your Money." He won a Peabody along with others at ABC News for coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Cameron has also been Washington bureau chief of the Canadian Broadcasting Corp., senior producer of CBC's "The National" and documentary producer and booking producer for "The Journal." He also worked at KIEM-TV in Eureka, Calif., and CJOH-TV in Ottawa as a reporter and producer. He graduated from Stanford University and the London School of Economics.
