ICM Partners Promotes Michael Kagan to Head of International Television and Media
He replaces Greg Lipstone, who departed last week to become CEO at client All3Media America.
ICM has found its new international television and media head, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Michael Kagan will step into the role vacated by Greg Lipstone last week, who has gone in-house at client All3Media America to serve as its CEO.
All3Media America will remain at ICM, with Kagan continuing to represent the massive reality production company (Undercover Boss). His other clients are some of the biggest in ICM’s television packaging space, including Ellen DeGeneres' A Very Good Production, Nick Cannon’s Ncredible Entertainment and 10x10. Kagan also represents prolific showrunners and talent behind and in front of the camera, including Nigel Lythgoe, The Voice's Audrey Morrissey, Wipeout's Matt Kunitz and Jillian Michaels.
An elevation for Kagan, who started his career in the ICM mailroom in 2003 and became its youngest partner a decade later (he celebrates his 34th birthday today), was long in the works. In fact, the 2012 THR Next Gen honoree was specifically groomed by Lipstone to be his eventual successor, so the agency expects a smooth transition and retention of the vast majority of the department's hundreds of clients. "Michael was identified early in his career as a future leader of the agency," ICM’s board said in a joint statement. "His passion for his clients and for television is infectious, and his demonstrated commitment to growing this area of our business makes him the ideal candidate to lead our International Television and Media department."
