'Idol,' 'House' deliver another Tues. for Fox


Fox ended another Tuesday night in a blaze of glory, as a Bon Jovi-themed "American Idol" and "House" steamrolled the competition.

"Idol," which featured the final six contestants perform, averaged 25.8 million viewers and a 9.7 rating/28 share among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m., according to preliminary Nielsen estimates.

"House" followed up with 21.3 million viewers and a 8.9/22.

A few shows earned honorable mentions against Fox's murderers' row -- CBS' "NCIS" (13.7 million, 3.1/9), which finished second at 8 p.m., CW' s' "Gilmore Girls" (4.0 million, 1.8/5), third in the same hour against "Idol," and ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" result show (15.8 million, 4.0/10), No.2 at 9 p.m.

NBC's "Law & Order: SVU" (11.3 million, 4.0/11) led the pack at 10 p.m.

For the night, Fox was far ahead with 23.5 million viewers and a 9.3/24.

CBS (10.4, 2.8/7), ABC (2.7/7) and NBC (8.0 million, 2.6/7) battled it out for second place.
