IFC Acquires Mary Harron's 'The Moth Diairies,' Starring Lily Cole and Sarah Bolger

The film adaptation of Rachel Klein's novel revolves around a suspected vampire in a girls' boarding school.

IFC Films has acquired U.S. rights to writer/director Mary Harron’s The Moth Diairies, starring Lily Cole, Sarah Gadon, Sarah Bolger and Scott Speedman.

The film, based Rachel Klein’s novel, follows a young girl (Bolger) haunted by her father’s suicide, who suspects a fellow boarding school student (Cole) is a vampire.

Presented by Alliance Films and Edward R. Pressman, Diaries, which bowed at the Venice Film Fesitval, was produced by Karine Martin and David Collins with Sandra Cunningham, Pressman, Mark Slone, Jean-Francois Doray, Louis-Simon Menard, Norton Herrick, Zygi Kamasa and Jon Katz as exec producers.

The deal was negotiated by Arianna Bocco, SVP of acquisitions and productions for Sundance Selects/IFC Films with Bart Walker of Cinetic Media reppping the filmmakers.
