IFC advisory taps Thukral CFO

NEW DELHI -- The Indian Film Co. said Friday that it has appointed Manish Thukral as chief financial officer of its Mumbai-based independent investment advisory, India International Film Advisors Private Ltd.

IFC's investors include Viacom-18, the recently announced joint venture between Viacom and Mumbai-based diversified Indian broadcasting group TV18.

Thukral will commence his duties Sept. 3, reporting to IIFAPL and IFC CEO Sandeep Bhargava. "We are pleased to welcome Manish on board. With his cross-industry experience of 16 years, he will undoubtedly prove to be a valuable member of the advisory company," Bhargava said.

Previously, Thukral was finance controller at Tata-Sky, the direct-to-home joint venture between News Corp.'s Sky and Indian conglomerate Tata Group.

At IFC, Thukral replaces Sibashish Sarkar, who quit the company last month to become CFO of Mumbai-based BIG Motion Picture.

IFC recently listed on London's Alternative Investment Market, where it raised $109 million to fund a slate of movies (HR 6/6).
