English-language sexy drama set for 2010 release

MADRID -- U.S. distributor IFC has picked up theatrical rights for the U.S. to Julio Medem's upcoming sexy drama "Room in Rome" at the American Film Market, production house Morena Films announced Tuesday.

Elena Anaya and Natasha Yarovenko star in the Spanish production due for U.S. release in 2010, according to the producer.

Wild Bunch handles rights for the project, which has already been picked up for the U.K., Japan, Israel and Latin America, among other territories.

Shot in English in Rome and Madrid, the film tells the story of two young women -- one Spanish and one Russian -- who meet in Rome and launch a physical relationship.
