IFC takes U.S. rights to 'One Week'

Joshua Jackson, Liane Balaban star in road movie

TORONTO -- IFC Films has acquired the U.S. rights to Canadian director Michael McGowan's "One Week."

The Canadian road movie, which stars Joshua Jackson ("Fringe") and Liane Balaban, was written and directed by McGowan, and bowed at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival.

The deal was brokered by Arianna Boccho and Elizabeth Nastro for IFC, and Charlotte Mickie for international sales agent E1 Entertainment International.

McGowan is shooting his next feature, "Score: A Hockey Musical," in Toronto, with Olivia Newton-John, Marc Jordan and Nelly Furtado starring.
