Two-day Cannes confab will run just before MIPTV at the end of March.


PARIS - Reed MIDEM will step outside of the box when new networking event MIPCube squares off on March 30 just ahead of April’s annual MIPTV confab.

MIPCube aims to bring together major players in the global TV biz plus digital and social media giants and producers for a two-day initiative will focus on the changes and innovations affecting the TV industry.

A brand new MIPCube pass will give market newcomers access to the two-day event, plus MIPTV’s opening day on April 1.

CEO of web platform IfWeRanTheWorld.com Cindy Gallop is the first confirmed speaker at MIPCube. The Coca-Cola Company and Ogilvy & Mather will also be sending reps to speak at the event. French media giant Vivendi is the creative partner and global sponsor of MIPCube 2012.

Other highlights of the inaugural conference include networking events, case studies, plus an exclusive trends briefing from Contagious’ senior consultant. “Live learning” sessions will focus on telling a story across all media and adapting content to the constantly changing climate of connected TV, online media and social networking.

MIPCube attendees can take a stroll down “Innovation Alley” for a showcase of the latest Connected TV, social media and dual screen technology. The fourth Digital Minds Summit will bring together 50 top global media business leaders for a private debate and discussion about the future of TV.

Competition will also be on the menu with the seventh annual Content 360 contest, the second annual start-up competition MIPCube Lab and a TV Hack Day offering developers a chance to team up for 48 hours to come up with the most innovative TV app.

After the competition is over, guests from every continent can come together for a MIPCube party to celebrate working together to create the future of TV and technology.

MIPCube will run from March 30 - 31, just ahead of MIPTV April 1 – 4 in Cannes.
