Jen MacLean will be the new head of worldwide business development for small and midsize developers at the tech company.

Jen MacLean, former executive director of the International Game Developers Association, has joined Amazon Game Tech as the new head of worldwide business development for small and midsize developers, the company announced Tuesday.

MacLean, who served as the exec director of the IGDA since 2017, stepped down from her role last month. Previously, she served as vp and general manager of games at Comcast and senior vp business development at now-defunct 38 Studios.

"Whether developers need help building their games faster, launching and operating them more efficiently, or improving marketing and user acquisition, I’m here to help," MacLean said of her new role.

MacLean will help small and midsize developers "create amazing player experiences" by linking them with Amazon services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Twitch Prime, Alexa and

"I see my role on the Game Tech team as helping smaller studios innovate by using the same tools the largest developers use, like AWS — which is already used by more than 90 of the world’s biggest public game companies. Even if they’re a two-person team working out of a bedroom," she said.

MacLean said she planned on using her new position to support underrepresented developers around the globe. "I’d love to see every potential engineer, artist, and designer consider game development as a career," she said.

Amazon launched its own game studio in 2012. The company is rumored to be working on a game streaming service akin to Google's recently unveiled Stadia
