Nick Young's jeweler, Jason of Beverly Hills, shares all the specs and how the design process happened.

Nick Young’s proposal to Iggy Azalea may have been a surprise to her, but according to jeweler Jason Arasheben — CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills — who made the stunning ring, it was no spur-of-the-moment thing. The Lakers star spent a lot of time visiting the jeweler — four separate trips, in fact — to make sure the ring he helped custom design was just right for his love.

The result of their efforts? An 8.15-carat fancy, intense yellow cushion-cut center stone surrounded by 2.28 carats of white diamonds and set in 18-karat white gold. The Aussie rapper proudly showed off her ring in a series of Instagram snaps. “We wanted it to be both a ring of Iggy’s dreams and a ring that fit her personal style,” says Arasheben of the $500,000 stunner.

Arasheben also told People StyleWatch that Young started throwing around ideas for ring styles nearly two months ago and really took his time with the process. “He knew he wanted a cushion-shaped stone. He was very meticulous and changed minor details on the design a few times, until we both felt it was perfect. [Young] was really determined to create the perfect ring for her,” he said.

It certainly seems the “Fancy” singer is happy with her fancy yellow diamond.
