iHeartRadio Music Awards: The Weeknd, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch Lead Nominations

Winners will be announced live from L.A.'s Dolby Theatre on May 27 after the 2020 edition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

iHeartMedia and Fox have revealed the nominations for the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

The Weeknd scored a leading eight nominations, followed by Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Ricch with seven each and Harry Styles with six.

Other artists who received multiple nominations include 24kGoldn, AC/DC, AJR, All Time Low, Ariana Grande, Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, blackbear, BLACKPINK, Blake Shelton, BTS, Calibre 50, Cardi B, Charlie Puth, Chris Brown, Christian Nodal, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Drake, Dua Lipa, Future, Gabby Barrett, H.E.R., J Balvin, Jhené Aiko, JP Saxe, Justin Bieber, KAROL G, Lady Gaga, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Maluma, Maren Morris, Ozuna, Ozzy Osbourne, Pop Smoke, Post Malone, Shawn Mendes, Snoh Aalegra, Summer Walker, Surf Mesa, Taylor Swift, The Pretty Reckless, twenty one pilots and Young Thug.

The music awards show is set to air live from Los Angeles' Dolby Theatre on Thursday, May 27 after the 2020 edition had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Winners were announced over Labor Day weekend on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app.

The awards will celebrate the most-played artists and songs on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app throughout 2020 while offering a preview of 2021's soon-to-be hits.

Fans can vote for the winner in several categories including Best Fan Army, Best Lyrics, Best Cover Song, Best Music Video, the Social Star Award, Favorite Music Video Choreography Award and the brand new TikTok Bop of the Year Award.

Voting, which can be done on Twitter using the appropriate category and nominee hashtag or on the iHeartRadio website, begins today and ends May 19 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

iHeartMedia chief programming officer Tom Poleman added, “We couldn’t be more excited for this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards. This year’s awards will be a can’t-miss music event.  We are looking forward to celebrating these top artists and their accomplishments, especially after a year that brought unprecedented challenges to the music industry and live events.”

The 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards is set to air from 8-10 p.m. ET and PT on Fox and will be heard on iHeartMedia radio stations and on the iHeartRadio app.

The list of this year's nominees follows. Additional categories include Label of the Year, Titanium Song of the Year, Titanium Artist of the year and individual winners for Album of the Year in genres including pop, country, alternative rock, rock, dance, hip-hop, R&B, Latin pop/Reggaeton and regional Mexican formats.

Nominations are based on consumption data including streaming, album sales, song sales and radio airplay. A full list of categories is available here.
