Imagi taps Tsumura exec vp prod'n


HONG KONG -- Imagi Animation Studios has appointed Ken Tsumura to the newly created position of executive vp production at its Hong Kong office.

Tsumura will oversee all production and studio operations, co-CEO and chief creative officer Francis Kao said. Imagi's current projects include "Gatchaman" and "Astroboy," both slated for 2009 release. He will report directly to co-CEOs Kao and Douglas Glen.

Tsumura produced "Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights" and "Last Stand" as well as having co-producer credit on episodes of "The Simpsons" and "The Critic."

Tsumura's 22 years of experience includes stints at DreamWorks Animation, Walt Disney Animation, Universal Pictures, Columbia Pictures, Gracie Films and Electronic Arts.
