Imax CEO Richard Gelfond's compensation for the latest fiscal year came to $6.28 million, up from $5.4 million in fiscal 2017, according to a regulatory filing Monday.

Gelfond received a base salary of $1.2 million last year and saw his bonus rise to $1.7 million, against a bonus of $850,000 in fiscal 2017. Gelfond made $14.4 million in fiscal 2016, when he received $6.6 million in stock awards. He received no stock awards in either fiscal 2017 or 2018.

The giant-screen exhibitor also revealed in an SEC filing that Greg Foster, the former senior vp Imax Corp. and CEO of Imax Entertainment, made $6.21 million in total compensation for fiscal 2018, up from the $3.8 million he earned in the previous year.

Foster was recently replaced by Megan Colligan as president, Imax Entertainment and executive vp of Imax Corp.

And Patrick McClymont, Imax's CFO, saw his overall pay rise to $2.6 million last year, just up from $2.53 million in fiscal 2017.

Gelfond's jump in overall pay, the company's compensation committee reported in the regulatory filing, was due to "Imax's record-setting global box office results and Mr. Gelfond’s oversight of and role in the launch of our new strategic initiatives designed to increase the revenue-generating power of our network."
