Imax to Release 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'

The movie reboot about the beloved 1980s icons in half-shells will be digitally remastered and screened in select international theaters.

TORONTO – Imax is to digitally remaster and screen the movie reboot Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on its international big screens.

The deal with Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes will see the Will Arnett and Megan Fox-starrer about the beloved 1980s icons released by Paramount in select Imax theaters overseas, starting on August 8.

Based on a screenplay by Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Evan Daugherty, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, Galen Walker, Scott Mednick and Ian Bryce, and directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans).

"Longtime partners Michael Bay and Jonathan Liebesman have done a wonderful job of updating this classic franchise for a next-generation audience," said Greg Foster, senior executive vp of Imax Corp. and CEO of Imax Entertainment, in a statement on Thursday.
