Imax's Greg Foster re-ups to 2013

Chairman and president of filmed entertainment

Imax Filmed Entertainment topper Greg Foster has extended his contract until July 2013.

Foster is president and chairman of Imax’s Santa Monica-based operations serving the Hollywood studio community. He has been at the forefront of the Toronto-based specialty exhibitor’s efforts to program mainstream movies into Imax’s 2D and 3D auditoriums in a major transition from the company’s nature-pic origins.

A nine-year Imax veteran, Foster supervises all aspects of the company’s worldwide film activities including creative, marketing production and distribution operations as well as business affairs and sponsorships.

“We are delighted that Greg will continue to lead Imax’s filmed entertainment division and serve as an integral part of our entire organization,” Imax CEO Rich Gelfond said. “Greg has played a key role in Imax’s success, in particular with building our studio and filmmaker relationships.”

Foster called his Imax tenure “the most exciting ride of my professional life.”

Before joining the company in 2001, Foster spent 15 years in executive roles at MGM/United Artists.
