Impact dives after 'Akula' heist thriller

Impact Pictures has acquired the heist thriller "The Akula Job," written by Mark DiStefano.

The script revolves around a master thief who is recruited by a female DEA agent determined to pull off a diamond heist from a submarine in constant motion, 600 meters below the surface of the ocean.

Impact's Jeremy Bolt and Paul Anderson will produce alongside Constantin Film's Robert Kulzer. The project will be financed by Impact's parent company Constantin Film.

"We have been on the hunt for a heist movie with a unique premise and strong protagonist, and this fits the bill perfectly," Bolt said.

DiStefano, repped by APA, has written the spec thrillers "Modern Sherlock" for New Line Cinema and "Clique" for Lionsgate.
