Imperative Entertainment Joins with German Publisher Bastei Lubbe

The conspiracy thriller "Pendulum" is among Bastei LLC's slate of new projects

The multi-platform group founded by 'Heroes' creator Tim Kring will co-develop media projects with the Cologne-based publishing house

Imperative Entertainment, the multi-platform media shingle set up earlier this year by Heroes' creator Tim Kring, together with producers Bradley Thomas and Zak Kadison and entrepreneur Dan Friedkin, has set up a joint venture with German publisher Bastei Lubbe.

The group, Bastei LLC, will be based in the US and aims to work with authors, screenwriters, directors and media firms to develop original content for the film, TV and the gaming industries.

Bastei LLC launches with four projects in development: the conspiracy thriller Pendulum; Capital Gains, a family drama set in the world of private equity; the San Francisco-set cop series The Bay; and Graves, a series about a female first-grade teacher who moonlights as a serial killer.

Bastei Lubbe, based in Cologne, is the one of Germany's largest and most successful independent publishers and the German publisher of such best-selling authors as Ken Follett and David Baldacci.
