Production recently wrapped on the indie psychological thriller, written and directed by first-time filmmaker Nathan Catucci.

Production has wrapped on indie psychological thriller Impossible Monsters, starring Santino Fontana, who voiced Hans in Frozen and played Greg on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

Here, The Hollywood Reporter provides a first look at the movie, from first-time filmmaker Nathan Catucci, via two exclusive images.

The film follows Fontana's psychology professor Dr. Rich Freeman, who conducts an intense sleep study that could result in a lucrative grant. But when one of the participants is found dead, homicide detectives begin investigating and the professor makes a frightening discovery.

"Through the characters' dreams and reality, the film explores how quickly aspiration and ambition, gone unchecked, can spiral out of control,” Catucci said in a statement. “I was thrilled to work with such a talented and amazing cast and production team on my first film. I can’t wait for audiences to experience the carefully crafted story that is wrapped in a cloud of fantasy.”

Catucci — who wrote, directed and produced Impossible Monsters — won the 2016 Panavision new filmmaker grant, giving him the opportunity to work with professional-grade equipment on his first feature.

Impossible Monsters also stars Natalie Knepp (The Last Five Years) and Devika Bhise (The Man Who Knew Infinity). Jonathan Burkhart and Dorottya Mathe also produced the movie, production on which took place throughout New York and New Jersey.

The movie also features Laila Robins (Homeland; Planes, Trains & Automobiles); Geoffrey Owens (Divorce, The Cosby Show); Dennis Boutsikaris (Better Call Saul, The Bourne Legacy); and Donall O Healai.
