'Incident' named best short at Berlin

Second place prize goes to 'The Decent'

Swedish director Ruben Osltund's "Incident by a Bank," a retelling of a real bank robbery the director witnessed in 2006, has won the Golden Bear for Best Short Film at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival. Ostlund, currently shooting his third feature film "Play," filmed "Incident" using just one camera and without a single cut.

The Short Film Silver Bear went to "The Decent," by Israeli director Shai Miedzinski. It follows a family looking for a suitable rock to use as a tombstone for their son’s grave. Miedzinski cast his own family in the leading roles.

Other short film winners included Romanian Adrian Sitaru, who won the DAAD scholarship for the chamber piece "Colivia," and Belgian director Natalie Teirlinck, who received a nomination for the 2010 European Film Academy's short film prize for her experimental short "Venus vs Me."
