Indiana inks big deal for Pavarotti pic

TURIN, Italy -- Italian-U.S. production company Indiana Prods. has acquired rights to "Big Luciano Pavarotti -- The True Story," Alberto Mattioli's biography of iconic tenor Luciano Pavarotti, the company said Tuesday at the Turin Film Festival.

The move puts the group among the first planning to make a film about the maestro, who died in September.

The book divides Pavarotti's life into three parts, which the production shingle plans to transform into two 90-minute segments and have ready for sale to television broadcasters by the summer.
