Kim Coates is starring in the film based on the graphic novel.
Tyler Ross, Lauren Velez, Reno Wilson and Bruno Gunn are joining Kim Coates in the indie feature Officer Downe.
The film is a live-action adaptation of Joe Casey and Chris Burnham's graphic novel.
Slipknot co-founder and drummer M. Shawn Crahan will make his directorial debut with the film about an LA supercop who is routinely killed in the line of duty, then repeatedly resurrected and sent back out onto the streets. Casey wrote the script for the project, which is based on the comic that is on the Man of Action imprint at Image Comics.
"We couldn't have asked for a better group of actors here. The way they're all bringing the thunder, we're absolutely gonna melt brains with this flick," said Casey. Voltage Pictures is repping the film internationally, while CAA is repping the project domestically.
Man of Action Entertainment, founded by comic book writers and creators Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle, is producing with Skip Williamson, Mark Neveldine, Cole Payne and Cory Brennan.
Ross (The Killing) is repped by Paradigm, Sanders Armstrong Caserta and Peikoff Mahan; Velez by Global Artists Agency, TMT Entertainment Group and Kraditor & Haber; Wilson by Innovative Artists, More/Medavoy Management and Felker Toczek Suddleson Abramson; and Gunn by Clear Talent Group, Black Box Management and Stone, Meyer.
