Indra Suharjono to run MTV Southeast Asia

Singapore-based exec looks to expand her regional ties

LONDON -- MTV has promoted Indra Suharjono to executive vp and managing director of MTV Networks in Southeast Asia and Greater China with immediate effect, succeeding outgoing regional head Amit Jain, who will focus on special projects for MTVNI.

Based in Singapore, Suharjono will assume oversight of MTVNI’s portfolio of brands and businesses throughout the region, focusing on shaping the company's long-term strategy as well as day-to-day operations.

Suharjono most recently was senior vp and managing director for Nickelodeon and Viacom consumer products in Asia and the Middle East. She will report to MTVNI president Bob Bakish, who said her intricate knowledge of the pan-Asian market will allow Suharjono to grow the business.

"The relationships that Indra and her team have built in Asia are integral to the continued growth of MTVNI's portfolio of brands in the region as we look to significantly expand our licensing, channel and digital businesses," Bakish said.
