Intermedia parent files for bankruptcy again

After U.S. investors group cut off promised funding

COLOGNE, Germany -- A year after first filing for bankruptcy protection and some eight months since pulling back from the brink, German film group IM Internationalmedia is again bust.

The Munich-based group, parent company of producer Intermedia, filed for insolvency proceedings on Wednesday after a U.S. investors group cut off its promised funding.

IM first filed for Germany's version of Chapter 11 last year but withdrew the application in December after the investment group stepped in, offering loans in exchange for shares in IM following a new rights issue.
