'The Interview': Watch Sony's Profanity-Filled, "Final" Red Band Trailer
"This is a major event — I walk in there like a f—ing gangster and blow his little f—ing ass away, bam! In porno, we call this the money shot"
Sony has released a "final" red band trailer for The Interview, following its $15 million VOD debut last week.
The latest preview, unveiled Tuesday and featuring footage not featured in previously released trailers, is also the first to feature full-on profanity. Within the first few seconds, Franco says, "This is a major event. I walk in there like a f—ing gangster and blow his little f—ing ass away, bam! In porno, we call this the money shot."
Additionally, Seth Rogen exclaims, "Balls to the wall, motherf—er!" and Randall Park shouts "F— you" from a helicopter. A North Korean official character tells Franco and Rogen, "Your gum tastes like shit." And that's just a few of the R-rated quotes in the 95-second trailer.
The final card also spotlights its digital release, listing four of the online options to watch the film. Since its Christmas Eve release, the movie has been rented or purchased over 2 million times, already making it the studio's biggest online film of all time. In regards to its theatrical run, the controversial film grossed an estimated $2.8 million from 331 independent cinemas over the four-day weekend.
