IOC taps Africa Olympics broadcasters

NEW YORK -- Beijing Olympics broadcast rights to 37 African territories were awarded to the South African Broadcasting Corp. and the African Union of Broadcasting, the International Olympic Committee said Tuesday.

Reaching an estimated audience of 129 million people in English, French and Portuguese, the SABC/AUB broadcast will cover 126 hours over the course of the games, which begin Aug. 8 in China, via exclusive over-the-air television and radio broadcast rights and non-exclusive satellite, mobile and Internet rights.
