ION upfront lands 40-plus advertisers


ION Media Networks Inc. said Monday that it has signed commitments from more than 40 new advertisers secured through ION Television's first upfront advertising season since the network's rebranding. Earlier this year, ION said it was returning to the general network advertising marketplace to hold an upfront presentation to unveil its programming strategy for the 2007-08 season. The advertiser commitments coincide with a new sales agreement between ION and GroupM, the media buying arm of WPP, involving nine new clients. Among them are Campbell's, GlaxoSmithKline, Macy's, Colgate, Kimberly Clark and Mattel.
