The Oscar-winning producer will next be represented onscreen by Martin Scorsese's 'Silence.'

Irwin Winkler will be honored with the Producers Guild of America’s 2017 David O. Selznick Achievement Award for his work in motion pictures. The award will be presented at the 28th annual Producers Guild Awards on Jan. 28 at the Beverly Hilton.

Winkler, who’s received four best picture Oscars nominations, won the Academy Award for producing 1976’s Rocky. His extensive credits range from They Shoot Horses, Don’t They? to Raging Bull, The Right Stuff and Goodfellas to last year’s Creed. His next film is Martin Scorsese’s Silence, which Paramount Pictures will release Dec. 23.

“Irwin Winkler’s movies have come to define Hollywood storytelling, and the gallery of iconic characters and classic scenes from his work remains a touchstone for all motion picture producers. It’s an honor to give Irwin this award this season, as he continues to release some of the most vital work of his storied career,” PGA Awards chairs Donald De Line and Amy Pascal said in announcing the honor.

Winkler issued a statement, saying, “I am honored to receive what is truly the trifecta of recognition: from the legacy of David O. Selznick, from the institution of the Producers Guild of America, and from my esteemed colleagues.”
