The comedian called the Fox News host a terrorist, and Hannity responded by claiming Brand is "dumb and ignorant."

Russell Brand and Sean Hannity are fighting over the Israel-Gaza conflict.

The comedian posted a 12-minute YouTube clip featuring commentary on the Fox News host’s recent “Sympathy for Terrorists” segment, in which Hannity shouted at Palestinian-American guest Yousef Munayyer and demanded that he answer his question about whether Hamas is a terrorist organization.

Brand analyzed the clip in his Trews video series, cutting back and forth between the Fox News footage and his own take on it.

The comedian first criticized the host’s appearance, saying “Sean Hannity does look a bit like the Ken Doll in the Toy Story 3 film.” He also wondered why Hannity’s show logo looks like a police badge.

But Brand focused most of his attention on Hannity’s confrontational interview approach.

Noting that Hannity started pointing as he began his interview with Munayyer, Brand said, “Sean, you're already being unreasonable. This isn't the normal terms or terms of a debate.”

Later he added, “Sean's not a solution-based guy. Sean's not thinking, 'We want peace, what we should we do to get peace?' He's thinking, 'We want conflict. What can I say to exacerbate conflict?'"

Brand also bashed the host for only using information that supports his particular perspective.

"Don’t remove all context except for the information that’s convenient to you,” Brand said, explaining that smaller organizations, like the Palestinian fighters on the Gaza Strip, might use “what we would perceive or term as acts of terror” to defend themselves because they don’t have the same resources as a larger country like Israel.

Brand also imitated Hannity, saying in the host’s voice, “I didn’t take a job with Fox News because I’m interested in progress. I’m interested in shouting and pointing and simplifying things.”

He ends the clip suggesting that Hannity may be the real terrorist, saying, “One of the definitions of terrorist is using intimidation to reach your goals. Who in that situation was behaving like a terrorist, using intimidation, bullying, being unreasonable? Sean Hannity. That’s where the terrorism’s coming from.”

Hannity responded to Brand’s attack on the Wednesday episode of his eponymous Fox News show, calling Brand “dumb and ignorant,” and a “D-list actor better known for his failed marriage to Katy Perry.”

Hannity claimed he was hurt by Brand’s attack but didn’t have a problem hitting back, even bringing out a panel to discuss Brand’s comments and other Hollywood remarks about the situation in Israel.
