ITV grabs stake in Crackit

Deal negotiated by Dawn Airey before exit

LONDON -- ITV has taken a 25% stake in startup indie producer Crackit, the final deal negotiated by Global Content head Dawn Airey, who quit Tuesday.

Crackit, set up by former Endemol and Brighter Pictures senior executive Elaine Hackett, is the latest in a stable of indie production holdings ITV has taken in the past 12 months. It currently holds stakes in Jaffe/Braunstein Entertainment, Mammoth and owns 12 Yard Prods. outright.
