ITV Studios' TV Hit 'Come Date With Me' Picked up in Four Countries
The show that has aired on U.K. network Channel 4 will get local versions in Canada and other markets.
ITV Studios format Come Date With Me, which mixes elements of dating and cooking shows, is set to launch in local versions in four new countries, including Canada, following its recent move to Australia.
The content production unit of broadcaster ITV has increasingly focused on formats that can travel worldwide.
ITV Studios said its Nordic arm has been commissioned to produce a local version of Come Date With Me for Viasat Broadcasting in Sweden.
ITV Studios has also sold the format to W Network in English-speaking Canada, Ukraine’s STB and Viasat Broadcasting in Latvia. In those countries, a local version will be produced by local companies.
The series has previously been commissioned by Network TEN in Australia where it will air later this year.
Negotiations for the format continue in multiple territories, according to the company.
Come Date With Me features men who must compete to win a date with a woman – or vice versa - by wooing them in the contestants' homes. "The would-be dates' lives are laid bare as they put their homes and their cooking prowess to the test, with their rivals on hand to pour scorn on their efforts," ITV Studios said in a show description.
Come Date With Me has been a success on Channel 4 in the U.K., especially among adults 16-24.
”Come Date With Me brings a fresh and interesting twist to the world of dating," said Paul Buccieri, managing director, ITV Studios International and CEO of ITV Studios America. "The deals are a credit to the ITV Studios team that developed the format and we look forward to further international deals for the series.”
