I've Seen Films jurors lined up

ROME -- Richard Gere, Paul Verhoeven and Ridley Scott will be among the jury members at the first I've Seen Films short-film festival to be held in Milan this year, festival organizers said Thursday.

The event, set for Sept. 22-26, will focus on international and Italian short films that will compete in at least two competitive categories.

Other jury members are director Robert Rodriguez and musician Ludovico Einaudi.

Among the festival's special events will be a special sidebar dedicated to films about AIDS victims, and a workshop hosted by actor Rutger Hauer. The festival lineup will be announced near the end of summer.

The festival will be added to an already crowded Italian film festival calendar but will occupy a niche that is lightly addressed in Italy: a handful of competitive festivals in the country have sidebars that focus on short films, but none are dedicated entirely to the medium.
