Ja Rule Pleads Guilty to Tax Evasion

The rapper owes $1.1 million in back taxes.

Rapper Ja Rule pleaded guilty Tuesday to three counts of failing to file a tax return.  He owes $1.1 million for missed tax payments from 2004 through 2008, according to Reuters.

Federal prosecutors say the sometimes actor has agreed to pay the $1.1 million plus Internal Revenue Service penalties owed.

Ja Rule faces one year in prison for each tax evasion count.

He's also looking at prison time from a plea deal reached in December for attempted criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony in the second degree.
