Jacobs joins SPT in sr. vp post

Former Fox Television Studios alternative chief Holly Jacobs is joining Sony Pictures Television as head of reality and syndicated programming.

Jacobs, who starts her new post as senior vp reality and syndication programming Monday, will oversee development and current for Sony's reality programming for broadcast and cable networks. She also will oversee the development of syndicated programs.

Jacobs, based in Los Angeles, replaces Melanie Chilek, who is leaving the company.

Jacobs, who reports to Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg, SPT's co-presidents of programming and production, most recently was executive vp alternative development at FtvS. She was one of three department heads let go in May in an executive shake-up following the appointment of Emiliano Calemzuk as the production company's new president.

At FtvS, Jacobs oversaw the development and production of such series as Fox's "Talk Show With Spike Feresten" and CW's "Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants."

Before joining FtvS in 2004, she was executive vp programming and development at Buena Vista Prods. In her three years there, Jacobs oversaw the development of syndicated daytime talkers "The Wayne Brady Show" and "The Tony Danza Show," among others. Before that, she was vp reality programming at ABC Daytime, where she worked on "The View."
