Jaime Ray Newman after 'Midnight'

Actress cast in indie from Amanda Goodwin

Buzz Entertainment has cast Jaime Ray Newman to star in its Manhattan-set indie feature "After Midnight."

"Midnight" chronicles the all-night adventure of a New York woman combing the city in search of her stolen wedding ring. The script was written by Amanda Goodwin, who also will direct.

In addition to Buzz, producers include Bethany Stirdivant and Shana Landsburg. The film is scheduled to begin production early next year in New York.

Newman, repped by Innovative Artists and Joannie Burstein, stars in the new ABC series "Eastwick," which begins airing in September. She appeared in the features "Catch Me If You Can" and "Made of Honor."

She and Goodwin, who is repped by APA, collaborated on Goodwin's debut, "Living 'Til the End."
