Jane Fonda Was a Glamorous Golden Girl in One-of-a-Kind YSL Couture
The 77-year-old was stunning as she stepped out at Saturday's premiere of 'Youth' at the Toronto Film Festival.
When it comes to red-carpet dressing, no one does it better than Jane Fonda — which is precisely why the actress was chosen to be the first to wear the new Saint Laurent couture label for a red-carpet appearance.
At Saturday's premiere of Youth at the Toronto Film Festival, Fonda was absolutely glowing in the one-of-a-kind, gold brocade gown. "Jane can really carry off an incredible outfit," noted Fonda's stylist Tanya Gill of the bold look. "She looked absolutely amazing in the dress."
But it wasn't just the fine detailing, from the pale gold satin lining to the open back, that made the dress so special. As it turns out, the couture creation was only the seventh dress of the French fashion house's new line.
"The label actually says 00007," said Gill, noting that while other dresses from the line had been worn for private events, Fonda's was "the first one on the red-carpet."

Gill styled the actress' shimmering column gown with glamorous, 69 carat Chopard jewels, a Saint Laurent box clutch and the perfect pair of pointed-toe gold Christian Louboutin shoes. "Jane only wears two-inch kitten heels," said Gill of the 77-year-old actress' shoe preferences. "Where do you even find a two-inch heel?! We're so lucky to have found these."
