Jane Fonda, Diane Keaton Comedy 'Book Club' Gets Release Date

The film, which also stars Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen and Alicia Silverstone, focuses on a group of friends whose lives are changed when their monthly book club reads 'Fifty Shades of Grey.'

Paramount Pictures has given a release date to the upcoming Jane Fonda, Alicia Silverstone-led comedy, Book Club. The film will hit theaters May 18. 

Book Club, from first-time director and A Walk in the Woods scribe Bill Holderman, follows four lifelong friends whose lives are changed when their monthly book club reads Fifty Shades of Grey. Joining Fonda and Silverstone in the cast are Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen, Diane Keaton, Andy Garcia and Craig T. Nelson. Holderman penned the script alongside first-time screenwriter Erin Simms.

The comedy will face off against Ryan Reynolds' superhero sequel, Deadpool 2, and the family-friendly Show Dogs over the May 18 weekend.

Also announced was a rescheduling for the Johnny Knoxville actioner Action Point, which moves from May 11 to June 1.
