Darren Star and Wendy C. Goldberg will be recognized as distinguished alumni at the June 13 ceremony.

Two-time Oscar winner Jane Fonda will be the keynote speaker at the commencement ceremony for the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, it was announced Thursday by Dean Teri Schwartz. Schwartz will preside over the event, to be held June 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Royce Hall.

Fonda has starred in more than 40 films, including Cat Ballou, Nine to Five, Julia, The Morning After and On the Golden Pond, winning Academy Awards for 1978's Coming Home and 1971's Klute. She was one of the first women in Hollywood to form her own production company, producing The China Syndrome, Nine to Five, On Golden Pond, Rollover and The Dollmaker.

Most recently, she has recurred on HBO's Aaron Sorkin drama The Newsroom, receiving an Emmy nomination, and portrayed Nancy Reagan in Lee Daniels' the Butler, next appearing in ensemble dramedy This Is Where I Leave You. Fonda has also been nominated for a Tony Award for Moises Kaufman's 33 Variations and is a best-selling author.

Emmy-nominated television producer and 1983 UCLA graduate Darren Star (Beverly Hills, 90210, Melrose Place, Sex and the City) has been named Distinguished Alumnus in Film, Television and Digital Media, and 1998 M.F.A. graduate Wendy C. Goldberg, artistic director of the National Playwrights Conference at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, is the Distinguished Alumna Award in Theater.
