'Into the Woods' and 'American Sniper' are enjoying strong runs as local children's films also score during spring vacation.

Junior high school sci-fi romp Assassination Classroom, a manga adaptation that bowed in top spot last weekend, fell one place and now has a cumulative total of $10 million from a million admissions.

Night at the Museum 3 held on to the third spot it opened in last weekend, taking another $1.6 million Saturday and Sunday.

Into the Woods dropped one spot to fifth, adding another $1.3 million to take its running total to $13.6 million.

The Wachowskis' Jupiter Ascending (released locally as Jupiter Rising) opened on 469 screens with $1.05 million to put it in sixth place on the charts.

American Sniper hung on in the top 10 on its sixth weekend in theaters and has now taken $16.7 million in Japan.

Next weekend will see the release of British political comedy Pride, starring Bill Nighy and Dominic West.
