Jason Mantzoukas Joining Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler in 'The House'
Mantzoukas will play Ferrell’s best friend.
Jason Mantzoukas is joining Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell in New Line's The House.
Poehler and Ferrell star in the comedy as a married couple who lose their daughter's college fund. They team up with their neighbors to start an illegal casino in the basement of their suburban house to earn back the cash.
Mantzoukas will play Ferrell’s best friend, a guy with a serious gambling problem who comes up with the idea to start a casino.
Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O'Brien wrote the script with Cohen directing. Ferrell is producing with Adam McKay via their Gary Sanchez banner. Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake of Good Universe are also producing. O'Brien is producing as well.
Mantzoukas is already in New Line’s How to Be Single, currently in production, and finished shooting a role for the Zac Efron-Robert De Niro comedy Dirty Grandpa. He also has Sleeping with Other People, the Leslye Headland romantic comedy that premiered at Sundance, in the can. He currently stars as the lovable psychopath Rafi on the FXX series The League.
Poehler and Mantzoukas worked together on Poehler’s NBC comedy Parks and Recreation.
