Javier Angulo takes reins at Valladolid

Was editor of film monthly Cinemania

MADRID -- Well-known Spanish industry insider Javier Angulo is taking the helm of the Valladolid International Film Festival.

Angulo, formerly editor in chief of film monthly Cinemania, will take over from Juan Carlos Frugone, who stepped down this year.

"It's a great opportunity and honor for me," Angulo told The Hollywood Reporter. "I want to open up the festival even more and focus on the Magreb and northern Africa -- a growing territory for film -- as well as European and Spanish cinema."
