Jay Leno Gulf Coast benefit raises $100,000

Biloxi show supports Gulf Coast Community Foundation

Jay Leno temporarily left the bright lights of Hollywood for a jaunt to Biloxi, Mississippi, Saturday to do his part to help those affected by the BP oil spill. The comedian headlined an intimate-size benefit show at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino to raise money for the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.

At the end of his set before approximately 1,000 people, "The Tonight Show" host presented the Gulf Coast Community Foundation's president, Rich Westfall, with a check for $90,336. After Leno personally added funds to the pot, the grand total of benefit funds edged closer to $100,000.
