Jeff Okun Re-Elected As VES Chair

Fink, Hogarth, Coleman, Lavery also elected as board officers during Thursday meeting.

Jeffrey A. Okun, head of visual effects for Prana Studios, was re-elected for a fourth one-year term as chairman of the Visual Effects Society’s Board of Directors.

The Society announced the results of its officer elections on Thursday.

Visual effects supervisor Michael Fink -- who won an Oscar for The Golden Compass -- was elected first vice chair.

Re- elected were Pam Hogarth, director of marketing at Look Effects, second vice chair; Bob Coleman, president, Digital Artists Agency, treasurer; and producer Kim Lavery, secretary.  

“I am thrilled to be allowed to focus on our core mission: creating community, promoting visual effects and the artists who create them,” said Okun -- whose credits as a VFX supervisor include Blood Diamond -- in a statement. “And I am equally thrilled to continue to push the VES 2.0 initiative forward – the initiative to reach out and bring all parties to the table to secure rights and benefits for our industry across the board in film, broadcast, special venue, commercials, games and animation.”
