Jeffrey Edell Joins Cinedigm as CFO

The film and TV producer-distributor sends a signal to Wall St. with the hire of an experienced financial and operating exec.

In a signal to Wall Street that it is building a credible management team, Cinedigm has hired Jeffrey Edell as chief financial office and made him a member of the company’s management committee.

“Having worked closely with him at DIC Entertainment while I was a director there,” said Cinedigm CEO Chris McGurk, “I know of his clear ability to create and manage a first-class financial effort and team at a public company. Holding a CPA and with significant private and public company experience, as well as a deep track record in accounting, reporting, M&A activities and business development, Jeff will be a great asset to Cinedigm as we continue to focus on our ambitious business objectives.”

“Cinedigm is exceedingly well positioned to succeed in the quickly transforming entertainment distribution landscape and a growing organization of this size and ambition will require an ever more sophisticated and effective financial organization and cohesive system,” added Edell.

Cinedigm stock, traded on NASDAQ, finished the day Monday at $2.66 per share, down a little over 2 percent from its close Friday.

Edell most recently was CEO of Edell Ventures, founded in 2009 to invest in social media and entertainment, which included a partnership with Marvel creator Stan Lee. He began his career with the accounting firm KPMG and worked at the Transamerica Group and DF & Co.
