Jeffrey Fink joins Cinram as exec vp

Company set to introduce new products, tech services

TORONTO -- In a bid to increase its Hollywood presence, Canadian replicator Cinram International has named former Miramax and Dimension Films executive Jeffrey Fink to the new position of executive vp of studio development.

In his new job, Fink will beat the bushes in Los Angeles for new studio business as Toronto-based Cinram contends with sliding sales of DVD units in a volatile home entertainment market.

Fink founded the home entertainment consulting firm Media Content Management, and before that was president of sales and marketing for Artisan Entertainment and senior executive vp of home entertainment for Miramax and Dimension Films.

His appointment comes as Cinram gets set to introduce a host of products and technical services for the major studios over the coming months.

A soft home entertainment market has meant lower home video revenue at Cinram from decreases in both DVD units shipped and average selling prices.
