Ask nearly 40 industry heavyweights -- directors, producers, writers and studio executives -- to tell you about their favorite book on their shelf, and you'll get a mix of genres and time periods. Some, including Homeland co-creator Howard Gordon, will veer toward the political, selecting Henry Kissinger's latest tome. Others will choose obscure novels (The Americans creator Joe Weisberg's pick: Ashenden), debut novels (You're the Worst showrunner Stephen Falk's pick: Leaving the Atocha Station), YA novels (The Hunger Games producer Nina Jacobson's pick: the Kingkiller trilogy) and biographies (The Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd's pick: The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace).
